What is Flatchecker?

Flatchecker allows you to lookup and share experiences with property rentals in the UK. You are able to search for property addresses and see if others have left comments and ratings, helping you to make a more informed decision before moving in. If you have had an experience with a rental which you feel is worth sharing then you're able to add your own comments and ratings to a property, and help others in the future.

What was the inspiration for Flatchecker?

A family member of the founding team was the victim of a rental scam whilst at university, losing deposit and rent money. When reporting this to the university accommodation office and police it was learnt that many other students had been victims to the same rogue landlord. Flatchecker is designed so that if you have the misfortune of a bad experience you can at least share this so that others can get a warning to be extra vigilant. It's not all negative though, so if you have a great experience, please share it and help others : )

What is a property review?

A property review is a comment and rating of your experience, which is added to Flatchecker's records and made public for others to see and share.

How do I add a property review?

Search for the property address you've had an experience with, you should then see the option to share your experience. You will need to register to add a property review (this just takes a minute though).

How trustworthy are property reviews?

Reviews should be regarded as guides, and not fact, there to help make a more informed decision before moving in.
